Today you will learn about the history of the pyramids, how they were constructed, and why they were constructed.
Savor your lunch at a local restaurant, then continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Explore the world’s largest collection of ancient Egyptian treasures in one stunning modern complex. Today, your Cairo Luxor Aswan holiday package shifting south. Transfer to Cairo Airport to fly to the beautiful City of Aswan. Meet your guide just outside the arrival terminal to commence your Aswan tour. Visit the High Dam, one of the great engineering feats of the 1960s. The dam was built to protect Egypt against floods and to generate hydropower.
Then proceed to the beautiful Temple of Isis at Philae Island. The temple was built during the Greco-Roman era and, was dedicated to Isis, goddess of Love and Magic in ancient Egypt. You will end your Aswan tour at the granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk. Learn how the ancient Egyptians fashioned their obelisks and statues of gods and kings. Then, transfer to your hotel. A highlight of this 6-day Cairo Luxor Aswan tour is Abu Simbel temples. It requires an early wake up to take your transfer to the phenomenal Temples of Abu Simbel, (A breakfast box is required). The temples of Abu Simbel are considered among the most celebrated achievements of ancient Egypt. The two temples were cut in the cliffs about 310 Km south of Aswan. The Great Temple was built for Ramses II (1279-1213 BC), while the Small Temple was built for his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari.
Because of the rising water of Aswan High Dam, the temples had to be saved and rescued in a magnificent world rescue operation of temples in Lower Nubia. After your tour, return back to Aswan, then to Aswan train station, to board your seated train to Luxor. Transfer to your hotel in Luxor.

Breakfast at the hotel, then begin your Luxor highlights tour. Visit the magnificent Valley of the Kings. The Valley of the Kings is one of the most important highlights not only in Luxor but throughout Egypt. The Valley of the Kings is the necropolis of the great Egyptian pharaohs of the 18th to the 20th Dynasty (1550-1080 BCE). Continue to the unique Temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut, who served for about 20 years as a sole pharaoh. Known for its grand terraces and elegant design set against the cliffs of Deir El-Bahari.
Take a photo of the Colossi of Memnon. They once guarded the entrance to his vast mortuary temple and remain one of the most famous landmarks in ancient Thebes. Savor your lunch at a local restaurant. Then, proceed to visit the Temple of Karnak. Karnak Temple is the largest temple complex in ancient Egypt. Its vast halls, towering columns, and sacred sanctuaries reveal the greatness of Thebes during the New Kingdom.
Conclude your Luxor day tour at the Temple of Luxor. Luxor Temple is one of the most beautiful ancient temples in Egypt. Built mainly by Amenhotep III and Ramses II. The Hanging Church is one of the oldest and most famous Christian churches in Egypt. It is admired for its beautiful wooden ceiling, historic icons, and deep connection to Egypt’s Coptic heritage.
Continue to Abu Serga Church. The Church of Abu Serga, also known as Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church. It is especially revered because tradition says the Holy Family stayed in a cave beneath the church during their journey in Egypt. End your Coptic Cairo tour at Ben Ezra Synagogue. Tipping is not included in our tour packages and is left entirely to your discretion. While it is not mandatory, it is greatly appreciated by the people who assist you during your journey.
