2. Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Tour enquiries and contact forms: your name, email address, phone number, nationality, travel date, number of adults and children, and any message you write.
  • Bookings: the details above, plus the names, ages and passport details of everyone travelling, flight times, hotel and room preferences, dietary or medical needs you choose to tell us about, and anything else needed to arrange your trip.
  • Live chat and WhatsApp: your name and contact details if you share them, and the content of your messages.
  • Reviews and feedback you send us after your trip.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you visit. Our web server and security software record this to keep the website running and protected.
  • Cookies: small files stored by your browser. See section 7.

Payment information

Card payments are processed by our payment provider, WeTravel. Your full card number is entered on their secure system and is never stored by us.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To answer your enquiry and send you a tour proposal (because you asked us to).
  • To arrange and deliver your booking: hotels, Nile cruises, domestic flights and trains, guides, drivers and entry tickets (to perform our contract with you).
  • To contact you before and during your trip, including in an emergency (contract and your vital interests).
  • To take payments, issue invoices and keep accounting records (legal obligation).
  • To keep our website secure and stop spam and fraud (our legitimate interests).
  • To improve our tours and website based on your feedback (our legitimate interests).

We do not sell your personal information. We only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Who We Share It With

We share only what is needed with:

  • Travel suppliers who deliver your trip: hotels, Nile cruise and dahabiya operators, airlines, Egyptian National Railways, guides, drivers and, where required, the Egyptian authorities (for example for permits or ticket bookings).
  • Service providers who help us run the business and website: our web host (Hostinger), our email delivery service, our payment provider, Tawk.to (live chat), WhatsApp (if you message us there) and our website backup storage.
  • Authorities and advisers where the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights.

5. International Transfers

We are based in Egypt, and your trip takes place in Egypt (and, on some itineraries, in Jordan or other countries). Your information will therefore be handled in Egypt and in the countries where our service providers operate. When you book with us, we transfer your details to suppliers in those countries because this is necessary to deliver the trip you asked for. We choose service providers that protect personal information with appropriate safeguards.

6. How Long We Keep It

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 2 months after our last contact.
  • Booking and payment records: as long as Egyptian tax and accounting law requires, currently up to 2 years.
  • Website security logs: 30 days.

After that, we delete the information or make it anonymous.

7. Cookies and Third-Party Content

Our website uses cookies that are needed for it to work, such as remembering your language and keeping the site secure. Some features load content from other companies, which may set their own cookies or receive your IP address:

  • Tawk.to, for the live chat window
  • Trustindex, for the Tripadvisor reviews widget
  • Google Fonts, for the website’s typefaces
  • WhatsApp, if you click the WhatsApp button

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website may not work properly if you do.

8. How We Protect It

The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and security software. Access to your booking information is limited to staff who need it to arrange your trip. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, including under the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation and Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (No. 151 of 2020), you may have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it;
  • complain to your local data protection authority.

To use any of these rights, email info@egyptbestvacations.com. We will reply within one month.

10. Children

This website is not intended for anyone under 18. We only collect children’s details (such as name, age and passport details) from a parent or guardian, so that we can book their trip.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
