Egypt Honeymoon Tours

Just the two of you, your own Egyptologist, and a pace you set yourselves.

Egypt Honeymoon Packages: Pyramids, Nile Cruise and Red Sea

An Egyptian honeymoon is not a resort you book and then forget about. It is the Nile turning gold at six in the evening while you sit on your own deck, a temple courtyard after the coaches have pulled away, and a stretch of Red Sea where nobody knows your names. Our Egypt honeymoon tours are built around exactly that: the two of you, one Egyptologist guide, and a pace you set yourselves.

Every honeymoon trip we run is private. Your own guide, your own driver, your own air-conditioned vehicle, from the first morning at the Pyramids of Giza to the last evening on the water. Nothing shared, nothing rushed, no group timetable to keep up with.

Most couples build the trip from three pieces. Cairo gives you Giza, the Grand Egyptian Museum and the old city. Luxor and Aswan give you the great temples and the cruise between them. Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh give you the part of the honeymoon where you do nothing at all. Four days covers Cairo on its own; eight to eleven fits all three; and past twelve days the Western Desert and the Siwa Oasis open up — palm groves, salt pools and a night sky most people never get to see.

Egypt Best Vacations is a licensed Egyptian operator based in Luxor, run by working Egyptologists, and a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice winner three years running 2024, 2025 and 2026. Being on the ground here is also why we will tell you something most operators won’t: a room sold as “five-star” in Egypt is usually a four-star room by European or American measure. We publish both ratings on every hotel and every ship we use, so the honeymoon you book is the honeymoon you get.

Egypt Honeymoon Tours: Your Questions Answered

Is Egypt a good honeymoon destination?

Yes — and it is one of very few places that gives you ancient history, a river cruise and a coral reef inside a single two-week trip. Couples typically pair Cairo and the Pyramids with a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, then finish with beach days in Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh. Distances are short, domestic flights are cheap, and the country is set up for private travel, so an Egyptian honeymoon rarely feels like a package holiday.

How much does an Egypt honeymoon tour cost?

Our honeymoon tours start at $620 per person for four days in Cairo and run to $2,365 per person for fifteen days taking in Cairo, Luxor, Hurghada and the Siwa Oasis. The middle of the range sits around $1,290 for eight days across Cairo, Luxor and Hurghada, or $1,635 for eleven days with more Red Sea time. Prices are per person sharing a double or twin room and cover hotels, transfers, guiding and entrance fees. International flights, tips and the $30 visa on arrival are extra.

What is the best Egypt honeymoon package?

For most couples it is somewhere in the eight to eleven-day range, because that is the shortest trip that fits Cairo, Upper Egypt and the Red Sea without rushing any of them. The 8 Day Egypt Honeymoon to Cairo, Luxor and Hurghada (from $1,290) is the efficient version; the 11 Day Egypt Honeymoon Itinerary (from $1,635) covers similar ground with more time to sit still. If you only have a long weekend, the 4 Day Honeymoon in Egypt (from $620) does Cairo properly.

How many days do we need for an Egypt honeymoon?

Four days covers Cairo. Six to seven adds a Red Sea resort. Eight to eleven fits Cairo, Upper Egypt and the beach, which is where most couples land. Twelve days and over lets you add the Western Desert or the Siwa Oasis — a long drive, and that is rather the point.

Are your Egypt honeymoon tours private?

Yes. Every honeymoon trip on this page is private by default: your own Egyptologist guide, your own driver, your own vehicle, and an itinerary paced to suit you rather than a group. Nothing is shared and start times are yours to move.

Is there a honeymoon Nile cruise?

Yes — the 4 Night Luxor to Aswan Honeymoon Nile Cruise, from $750 per person, running five days and four nights with departures on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Sailing south from Luxor you visit Karnak and Luxor Temple and the Valley of the Kings, then Edfu and Kom Ombo, arriving in Aswan for Philae Temple on Agilkia Island. Couples who want more seclusion should ask about a dahabiya, a small sailing boat of around ten cabins.

Can we combine a Nile cruise with the Red Sea?

Yes, and the geography makes it easy: Hurghada is roughly four hours by road from Luxor, so you can step off the boat in the morning and be on a beach that afternoon. The 13 Day Cairo, Nile Cruise & Siwa Oasis for Honeymooners (from $2,115) and the 14 Day Egypt Honeymoon Holiday (from $2,230) already combine the two, and we can build the same pairing into any trip of ten days or more.

What romantic extras can you arrange?

Flowers and candles in the room before you arrive, a private candlelit dinner, a felucca at sunset, dinner within sight of the Pyramids, and a sunrise hot air balloon over the Luxor west bank. Some are already in the tour price and some carry a supplement, so tell us which ones matter when you enquire and we will cost them in before you book.

What is the best time of year for an Egypt honeymoon?

October to April, when Cairo, Luxor and Aswan sit in the low to mid twenties Celsius and sightseeing is comfortable all day. May to September is hot in Upper Egypt, regularly above 40°C, though early starts make it workable and prices drop. The Red Sea is warm year-round. Our own pick is late October or March: warm, quieter, and the Nile at its best.

What kind of hotels do you use?

Egyptian star ratings are issued locally and run about one and a half grades above the equivalent property in Europe or North America, so we publish both figures. Honeymoon prices on this page start on our Gold tier, which holds an Egyptian “5-star standard” license and is honestly around a 3.5-star Western hotel. From there you can move up through Platinum (“5-star deluxe”, roughly 4-star Western) to our Diamond and Elite tiers, which include hotels such as the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract in Aswan and the Four Seasons at Nile Plaza in Cairo.

Can we add the Siwa Oasis or the desert?

Yes. The 13 Day Cairo, Nile Cruise & Siwa Oasis for Honeymooners (from $2,115) and the 15 Day Cairo, Luxor, Hurghada & Siwa Oasis Honeymoon (from $2,365) both reach Siwa, out towards the Libyan border. It is a long drive from anywhere, which is why you get palm groves, salt pools, mud-brick ruins and almost nobody else.

Is Egypt safe for honeymoon couples?

Yes, in the places honeymooners actually go. Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and the Red Sea resorts are well policed and thoroughly used to international visitors. Travelling privately removes most of the friction anyway: you are met inside the arrivals hall, driven door to door and accompanied by a licensed guide throughout. Normal city sense applies in Cairo, as it would in any capital.

Do we need a visa for Egypt?

Most nationalities can buy a visa on arrival at Egyptian airports for $30 per person, payable in cash. Our representative meets you inside the arrivals terminal with a name board and handles the visa and passport formalities with you before you reach the car. Check your own country’s rules before you fly, as a small number of nationalities have to apply in advance.
