Day 1 Arrive in Cairo, Egypt

Touch down in Cairo, where ancient magic hums in the air, and begin your 18-day Egypt adventure. A friendly representative from Egypt Best Vacations awaits, ready to smooth your passage through arrival formalities and whisk you to your comfortable haven. With Cairo’s pulse thrumming just beyond your doorstep, your Egyptian adventure ignites.

Day 2Giza Great Pyramids, Sphinx and Saqqara

The start of your incredible 18-day Egypt adventure unfolds as our expert tour guide whisks you away from your hotel, ushering you into the enchanting realm of the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and Saqqara. 

Today, you will explore the Giza Plateau. Today’s tour includes the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure with the great Sphinx. The only ancient wonder which still exists (Khufu’s pyramid) awaits you. Are you ready to explore it from the inside? Today you will learn about the history of the pyramids, how they were built, and why they were built.

Then on to the first pyramid in history of mankind, the Step Pyramid of King Djoser at Saqqara. Saqqara is one of the most important and richest necropolises in Egypt. It was the cemetery of Memphis, the 1st capital city of United Egypt in 3200 BCE.

Transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3Egyptian Museum, Saladin Citadel and Khan El-Khalili

Explore the fabulous contents of the historical Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square in Cairo. Thousands of artifacts from all periods of Egyptian history are displayed on the two floors of the museum.

From the museum to the Citadel of the Sunni Muslim leader Saladin, which was built in 1172 to defend Cairo against the Crusaders. The White Mosque of Mohammed Ali Pasha is a prominent feature of the citadel. You will finish your tour today at the historical bazaar of Khan El-Khalili, the largest bazaar in the Middle East. Transfer back to your hotel.

Day 4Cairo - Alexandria

Bid farewell to Cairo’s ancient whispers and journey today to Alexandria, where Greco-Roman echoes dance on the Mediterranean breeze. Prepare to step into a city where pharaohs once rubbed shoulders with philosophers, and your 18-day Egypt adventure takes on a breathtakingly new chapter. 

Your tour includes the famous Roman Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. The catacombs are huge Egyptian tombs and royal cemeteries with Ptolemaic and Roman influences. The catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa are one the largest Roman burial sites not just in Alexandria but in Egypt. These catacombs started as a private tomb for a wealthy family, then became a public cemetery. The catacombs house more than 300 tombs.

From the catacombs to the Pompey’s Pillar. Many of the ancient historians did not tell us more details about the “Pompey’s Pillar” but about the buildings that stood nearby and have disappeared now. The hill on which the pillar is erected was covered with temples and houses a long time before the Roman era. It was the place of the Citadel of Rhakotis. A temple was dedicated to Osiris-Serapis was built on the mountain.

Day 5Alexandria - Cairo

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel then visit the Citadel of Qaitbay. The Citadel of Qaitbay in Alexandria is one of the most important fortifications in Egypt. It was constructed by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay to defend Egypt against the Ottomans/Turks. 

From the Citadel of Qaitbay to the great Library of Alexandria. The Library of Alexandria is a great library and culture center, not only in Alexandria but on the Mediterranean coast and the whole world. End your tour at the Roman Amphitheatre. This Roman Amphitheatre in Alexandria is one of the great highlights of the beautiful city of Alexandria. The Amphitheaters were not just popular in Egypt, they were popular in other countries as Italy, Greece, Jordan and Turkey. 

Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant, then travel back to Cairo.

Day 6Spiritual Cairo

Enjoy a spiritual tour to the Community of Religions in Cairo. This tour includes the famous Coptic Hanging Church. Cairo’s Church of the Saint Virgin Mary was built on the ruins of the Roman Babylon Fortress. Because of its location over the ruins of the fortress, it is known as Al Mo’llaqah Chruch or the “Hanging Chruch.”

Then proceed to the Abu Serga Church. The Church of Abu Serga is located in the modern Old Cairo, in the midst of the ancient Roman fortress of Babylon. The Holy Family drank from a well in the church, so the church is characterized among the other Egyptian Coptic churches.

Then to the Synagogue of Ben Ezra. Ben Ezra Synagogue in Cairo is one of the most important and largest synagogues in Egypt. The Synagogue is named after the great Jewish Rabbi Ezra the Scribe.

Transfer back to your hotel.

Day 7Fly to Abu Simbel - Lake Nasser cruise

Your 18-day Egypt adventure leads you to Abu Simbel, where the next chapter of your adventure begins with the initiation of your Lake Nasser cruise, sailing from Abu Simbel to Aswan. Fly from Cairo to Abu Simbel. Meet and assist by our representative of “Egypt Best Vacations“. Transfer to your cruise ship. Enjoy your lunch onboard before visiting the phenomenal Temples of Abu Simbel

The temples of Abu Simbel are considered among the most celebrated achievements of ancient Egypt. The two temples were cut in the cliffs about 310 Km south of Aswan. The Great Temple was built for Ramses II (1279-1213 BC), while the Small Temple was built for his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari. Because of the rising water of Aswan High Dam, the temples had to be saved and rescued in a magnificent world rescue operation of temples in Lower Nubia.

Day 8Qasr Ebrim - Amada

Your Lake Nasser cruise ship will set sail from Abu Simbel to Qasr Ebrim, which you will view from the top deck. The only Nubian monument visible on its original site, Qasr Ebrim once sat on top of a 70m-high cliff, about 60km north of Abu Simbel, but now has water lapping at its edges.

Then set sail to Amada to overnight there.

Day 9Wadi Es-Seboua - Dakka

Today at Amada, you will visit the Temple of Amada. Amada Temple was built during the 18th Dynasty (c. 1550–1295 BC) in the New Kingdom, the temple of Amada is one of the oldest of the ancient Egyptian monuments lying along the shores of Lake Nasser. The reliefs and inscriptions of the temple are very well preserved because they were covered with a layer of plaster when it was converted into a church.

You will also visit the Tomb of the Viceroy of Nubia, Pennut. Then, your Lake Nasser cruise ship will set sail to Wadi Es-Seboua. Here you are visiting the Temple of Wadi Es-Seboua, the Temple of Dakka, and the Temple of Maharaqa. Then set sail to Aswan for overnight.

Day 10New Kalabsha Area - Dahabiya Nile cruise

Disembarkation. Visit the New Kalabsha area which includes the Temple of Kalabsha, the Temple of Beit El-Wali, and the Kiosk of Kertassi. This Temple of Kalabsha is the largest free-standing temple in Lower Nubia. It was built during the reign of Augustus (30 BC–14 AD), the first Roman emperor. Primarily dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis, the gods Isis and her husband Osiris were worshipped here too.

Bid farewell to the majestic cliffs of Lake Nasser, where pharaohs once navigated, and prepare to glide down the Nile aboard a traditional Dahabiya. Imagine the whispers of ancient civilizations carried on the breeze as you embark on this enchanting chapter of your 18-day Egypt adventure. 

Enjoy your lunch on the Dahabiya cruise then proceed to the beautiful Temple of Isis at Philae Island. This temple was built during the Greco-Roman era and, was dedicated to Isis, goddess of Love and Magic in ancient Egypt. Transfer back to your Dahabiya Nile cruise. Set sail to Kom Ombo to overnight there.

Day 11Kom Ombo - Edfu

Visit the twin Temple of Horus and Sobek together with the Crocodile Museum at Kom Ombo. Kom Ombo Temple was built during the Greco-Roman period. It was built over the ruined temple of the New Kingdom. The temple began during the time of Ptolemy V and was completed by the time of Emperor Tiberius. The emperors Domitian, Caracalla, and others added to the temple. So it took about 400 years to finish.

Enjoy a short visit to the Crocodile Museum begore you go back to your Dahabiya Nile River cruise to set sail to Edfu to overnight there. 

Day 12Edfu - Esna - Luxor

Take a horse and carriage to visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. The Temple of Horus in Edfu is the most intact temple in Egypt and one of the most beautiful temples built during the Greco-Roman period. The temple is very intact, none of its elements are missing but the Sacred Lake and two obelisks. The Temple of Edfu is fully inscribed with reliefs and hieroglyphs on its exterior and interior walls.

Take your carriage back to your Dahabiya River Nile cruise to set sail to the lock of Esna. Go through the lock and continue sailing to Luxor. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 13Luxor highlights - Hurghada

Disembarkation. Visit the magnificent Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom period were buried. Then proceed to the unique Temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut, who ruled Egypt for about 20 years as a sole pharaoh.  Continue to the giant Colossi of Memnon of Amenhotep III. 

Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant then proceed to the Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. These two temples were dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut and Khonsu.

Head to Hurghada for a blissful retreat on the picturesque beaches of the Red Sea. Immerse yourself in the captivating underwater world at your own pace. Make the most of four leisurely days during your 18-day Egypt adventure to unwind and explore.
