Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Cairo, Egypt

Arrival at Cairo International Airport. Meet and assist by our representative of “Egypt Best Vacations” who will help you through the arrival and visa regulations. Transfer to your hotel and the beginning of your 15-day Holy Land Tour. (no meals)

Day 2Giza Great Pyramids, Sphinx and Saqqara

Today you will visit one of the most important tourist sites in Egypt, here we will explore the wonderous Giza Plateau and marvel at the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure along with the mysterious Sphinx which is believed to guard them. 

You will then proceed to Saqqara the site of the Step Pyramid, the first proper pyramid built by the architect Imhotep for King Djoser in the 27th Century B.C. (Breakfast only)

Day 3Fly to Aswan - Aswan Tour - Nile Cruise

Today you will fly to Aswan to begin your 3-night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor. Meet your guide just outside the arrival terminal at Aswan Airport to commence your tour. Explore the highlights of the beautiful City of Aswan such as the High Dam, the Temple of Isis at Philae Island, and the granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk.

Transfer to your Nile cruise ship. Overnight in Aswan. (B, L & D)

Optional tour: Tour to the Nubian Village in Aswan 

Day 4Aswan - Kom Ombo - Edfu

Enjoy a free morning on board your cruise ship or join us on an optional tour to the phenomenal temples of Abu Simbel.
The Nile cruise will set sail to Kom Ombo around lunchtime. Stop at Kom Ombo to visit the twin Temple of Horus and Sobek. Then set sail to Edfu. Overnight in Edfu. (B, L & D)

Day 5Edfu - Esna - Luxor

You will wake up on the hustle and bustle of the horse carriages waiting to transfer you to the Temple of Horus in Edfu. After the tour of the temple, the cruise will set sail to Luxor via the Lock of Esna.

Upon arrival in Luxor, you will visit the Temple of Karnak and the Temple of Luxor. Overnight in Luxor. (B, L & D)

Day 6Luxor West Bank - Fly back to Cairo

Disembarkation. Visit the great tombs of the Valley of the Kings, the unique Temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon on the West Bank of Luxor.

Transfer to Luxor Airport to fly back to Cairo. Transfer from Cairo Airport to your hotel in Cairo. (Breakfast only)

Optional tour: Sunrise Hot Air Balloon over Luxor

Day 7Egyptian Museum, Saladin Citadel and Khan El-Khalili

Explore the fabulous contents of the historical Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square in Cairo. Thousands of artifacts from all periods of Egyptian history are displayed on the two floors of the museum.
From the museum to the Citadel of the Sunni Muslim leader Saladin, which was built in 1172 to defend Cairo against the Crusaders. The White Mosque of Mohammed Ali Pasha is a prominent feature of the Citadel.
You will finish your tour today at the historical bazaar of Khan El-Khalili, the largest bazaar in the Middle East. (Breakfast only)

Day 8Cairo to Amman

Transfer to Cairo Airport for your connection flight to Amman. You will be met upon arrival at Amman airport by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay. (Breakfast only)

Day 9Gadara, Jerash & Ajloun Castle

Today you will commence you tour to the ancient city of Gadara (Umm Qais) boasting spectacular views of the Yarmouk Valley, the Golan Heights, and the Sea of Galilee. Gadara is known for its Roman theatres, fountains, underground water wells and more. The site of Gadara was also an important stop during the Ottoman era and was inhabited by locals until 1989. We will then visit the ruined city of Jerash, Jordan’s largest and most interesting Roman site. The imposing ceremonial gates, colonnaded avenues, temples and theatres all speak to the time when this was an important imperial centre. Finally you will stop to see Ajloun Castle, a superb example of Arab-Islamic military architecture which has stood for centuries retaining significance since the time of the Crusades built originally by Salah al Din in 1184/1185. Overnight in Amman. (Breakfast & lunch)

Day 10Bethany, Madaba & Mount Nebo

Your tour today commences with a visit to Bethany, the site of John the Baptist’s settlement at Bethany where Jesus was baptized. The Bethany area sites formed part of the early Christian pilgrimage route between Jerusalem, the Jordan River, and Mount Nebo. You tour will then visit Saint George’s Church, this 19th-century Greek Orthodox church houses a treasure of early Christianity. Found on this site was a stunning mosaic map, crafted in 560 AD. The map represents the oldest map of Palestine in existence it has 157 captions (in Greek) depicting all the major biblical sites of the Middle East, from Egypt to Palestine. Following this you will visit Mount Nebo where Moses is said to have stood and overlooked the Holy Land and where according to Christian tradition Moses was buried. Overnight in Amman. (Breakfast & lunch)

Day 11Lost City of Petra

Today you have a full day exploring Petra known as the Rose Red City. This remarkable city of temples and houses was carved out of the sheer rock some 2,000 years ago by a nomadic people called the Nabataeans. From this stone stronghold, they were able to control the ancient trade routes of Arabia, establishing a kingdom that became known for its exquisite architecture and refined culture. Making your way on foot through a slim fissure in the rock of the ‘Siq’ mountains you will encounter the dramatic treasury plus the Street of Facades, the Court House and the Amphitheatre. If there is time you can even climb the 1,200 steps to the Monastery. Following your tour, you will then be driven back to your hotel in Amman. (Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 12Jordan to Israel

After checking out of your hotel, you will drive via the border crossing (Allenby Bridge/King Hussein Border) then drive to Jerusalem via the Judean Desert. On arrival at the Holy City, you will be driven directly to your hotel for check in (Breakfast only).

Day 13Jerusalem and Bethlehem

You tour today will start with a visit to the Mount of Olives before walking the short distance to the Wailing Wall which is one of the holiest sites in Judaism. This is followed by a visit to the Via Dolorosa through the Stations of the Cross, to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre which is believed to be the site where Jesus was crucified and later buried. You will then drive to Bethlehem the city where Christianity began, and Jesus was born. You will visit the Church of the Nativity and the Grotto of the Manger. Finally, you will drive back to Jerusalem and your hotel. (Breakfast & Lunch).

Day 14Masada and Dead Sea

Your tour commences today with a journey to Masada where you will take a cable car ride to the top of the mountain to see the remnants of an ancient fortress built by King Herod. After exploring the ruins you will take drive along the shoreline to the Dead Sea lies in the Jordan Valley at the lowest point on earth. It has attracted visitors from around the Mediterranean Basin for thousands of years. As one of the world’s first health resorts Herod the Great was said to have bathed here. Here you can spend your time sunbathing, relaxing and floating in the water before we drive back to your hotel. (Breakfast & Lunch).

Day 15Fly home

It is the end of your 15-day Holy Land Tour, following breakfast in the hotel our representative will assist in transferring to the airport for final departure.
