14 Day Vacation Packages to Egypt

Two weeks in Egypt, planned by a working Egyptologist

Why Fourteen Days Is the Length Most Travellers Wish They Had Booked

Most itineraries move you through Egypt faster than the country can register. Our 14 day vacation packages to Egypt are built the other way round: enough time in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and wherever you choose to finish that you stop counting sites and start noticing things. If you have been wondering whether fourteen days is too long, it is not. It is the length people who have already been recommend to people who have not.

The trip opens in Cairo. You stand in front of the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, then walk through the Grand Egyptian Museum, where the Tutankhamun assemblage is displayed complete for the first time since it left the tomb. Shorter breaks give Cairo a single compressed day and call it done. Two weeks lets you come back for Coptic Cairo, the Citadel and Khan El-Khalili, which is where the city actually starts to make sense.

From Cairo the route runs south, and the Nile does the work. You sail between Luxor and Aswan with the Valley of the Kings, Karnak and the Temple of Isis at Philae along the way — rebuilt block by block on Agilkia Island after the dams raised the water. Every package on this page includes that stretch, whichever budget you book.

What the extra week really buys is the ending. You can add Alexandria and the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa on the Mediterranean, finish on the Red Sea at Hurghada or Sharm El-Sheikh, or turn west into the chalk formations of the White Desert and the palm groves of Siwa. Ten-day itineraries cannot reach any of it.

Every package here runs as a small group, capped at sixteen, and any of them can be taken privately on request. Pricing is all-in: guiding, accommodation, transfers, entrance fees to the main sites. Send us your dates and we will build one around them.

Great tour. Our guide Essam was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and articulated the tour well. Offering our group good advice on how to customize our tour based on our interests. He was sure to warn us on all potential scams aswell as unnecessary/non affiliated persons. He also went above by making our restaurant reservations for us.

Related FAQs About 14 Day Vacation Packages to Egypt

Most Asked Questions about 14 Day Egypt Travel Packages

Is 14 days enough time to see Egypt properly?

Yes, and it is the length most people who have been recommend. Two weeks covers Cairo, a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, and one more region of your choosing without any of it feeling compressed. Ten days can do the same route, but it does it at a jog. The difference is not more sites. It is time to sit still in the ones you have already reached.

What destinations are covered in a 14 day Egypt package?

Cairo, Luxor and Aswan on every itinerary, plus one region that varies by package. Cairo gives you the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum. The Nile stretch covers the Valley of the Kings, Karnak, Kom Ombo, Edfu and the Temple of Isis at Philae. The fourth region is where the packages diverge: Alexandria on the Mediterranean, Hurghada or Sharm El-Sheikh on the Red Sea, or the White Desert and Siwa Oasis out west.

Is a Nile cruise included?

Yes, on all four packages listed on this page. You sail between Luxor and Aswan for three or four nights depending on the itinerary. Three of the packages use a standard ship, and one uses a dahabiya, which is a small sailing boat carrying a fraction of the passengers.

What do your cruise ship categories actually mean?

Egyptian licensing rates almost every Nile ship as five-star, which is not much use to you. We publish our own calibration instead: Standard is a genuine 3.5 stars by Western measure, Deluxe is 4, Ultra Deluxe is 4.5 and Luxury is 5. When you compare our prices against another operator’s, check what you are actually comparing.

Can I add a Red Sea stay or a desert trip?

Yes, and choosing the finale is most of what distinguishes these four packages from each other. The Red Sea at Hurghada or Sharm El-Sheikh is the usual choice for winding down after a fortnight of early starts. The White Desert and Siwa go the other way, deeper into the country rather than out of it. Alexandria is the third option, and the only one that stays close to Cairo.

How much do 14 day Egypt vacation packages cost?

The four packages on this page start between $1,790 and $2,685 per person, depending on the itinerary and the cruise standard. Prices rise over Christmas, New Year and Easter. The rate covers guiding, accommodation, internal transport, transfers and entrance fees to the main sites. International flights, the visa on arrival at $30 and personal spending are separate.

Are these private tours or group tours?

Small group, capped at sixteen people, which is our standard for any tour of seven days or more. Any of them can be run privately on request, with your own guide, driver and vehicle throughout. Tell us at enquiry and we will price both so you can compare properly.

Is a 14 day tour suitable for families with children?

Yes, and the length is a large part of why. Fourteen days means a slow morning does not put the itinerary behind, which is the thing that usually breaks a family trip to Egypt. Children under six travel free on land-only packages, and pay reduced rates on packages including domestic flights. Our family and kids itineraries are built around the pacing.

Can I visit Alexandria on a 14 day package?

Yes, on the Cairo, Alexandria and Hurghada itinerary. Alexandria is a genuinely different Egypt: Mediterranean rather than Nile Valley, with the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, the Corniche and a Graeco-Roman past that has almost nothing to do with the pharaohs. It is a long day from Cairo, so it is worth doing only when you have the time to spare, which at fourteen days you do.

Why book with Egypt Best Vacations?

Because the itineraries are written by a licensed Egyptologist who lives and guides in Luxor, not assembled from a supplier catalogue. That shows up in small ways: which tombs are worth the extra ticket on the day you are there, why a temple was built where it was, and an honest rating for every hotel and ship rather than the Egyptian licence number. We are a licensed Egyptian operator and a three-time TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice winner 2024, 2025, and 2026.
