This luxury solo Nile cruise sails three nights from Aswan to Luxor, and the cabin is yours alone. You do not share with a stranger and you are not charged for an empty second bed: the price on this page is the price for one person in a single cabin.
You travel with a small group of other solo travelers, never more than 12, and a licensed Egyptologist guide leads every visit: Philae, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Karnak, Luxor Temple and the Valley of the Kings. The cruise leaves Aswan every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Egypt Best Vacations is owned and run by an Egyptologist, Essam Ali, and holds the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award for 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Nile cruise ships in Egypt are almost all licensed as “5-star”, which tells you very little. We grade them ourselves into four classes and publish the honest international equivalent. This cruise is sold on the top two only.
| Ship class | Egyptian rating | International equivalent | Price per person, single cabin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ultra Deluxe | 5-star ultra deluxe | 4.5-star | $2,025 |
| Luxury | 5-star luxury | 5-star | $3,020 |
Prices are in US dollars and cover the cruise on full board, all guided visits and entrance fees. Sailings over Christmas, New Year and Easter are priced separately: see the solo Christmas Nile cruise and the solo Easter Nile cruise.
If the ship class matters less to you than the price, the same route is available on Standard and Deluxe ships from $995 on our solo Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor.

Our representative meets you inside the arrivals terminal at Aswan Airport with a signboard, or on the platform at Aswan railway station. Your guide takes you first to the High Dam, built between 1960 and 1970, and then by motorboat to the Temple of Isis at Philae. The temple stands on Agilkia Island, where it was rebuilt stone by stone in the 1970s after the dam’s waters covered its original island. The last stop is the Unfinished Obelisk, still lying in the granite quarry where it cracked. You board the ship for lunch, and the afternoon is free. Overnight on board in Aswan.
Meals: lunch, dinner
The morning is free in Aswan, or you can take the optional visit to Abu Simbel. The ship sails around midday and reaches Kom Ombo in the afternoon. The temple here is a double one, shared between the crocodile god Sobek and Haroeris, Horus the Elder, with two entrances, two halls and two sanctuaries side by side. The visit includes the Crocodile Museum next door. The ship continues to Edfu for the night.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner
An early start by horse carriage to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, built under the Ptolemies between 237 and 57 BC and the best preserved temple in Egypt. Back on board, the ship sails north through the Esna Lock while you have lunch on board. In Luxor you visit Karnak, the largest religious complex ever built at around 100 hectares, and then Luxor Temple as the light fades. Overnight on board in Luxor.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner
After breakfast you leave the ship and cross to the West Bank. In the Valley of the Kings your ticket covers three tombs, and your guide helps you choose from the ones open that day. At Deir el-Bahari you visit the terraced temple of Hatshepsut. She began as regent for Thutmose III and went on to rule as a crowned king in full pharaonic regalia, with his regnal years still running alongside hers. The last stop is the Colossi of Memnon, the two seated statues of Amenhotep III. We then take you to Luxor Airport, the railway station or your hotel.
