This solo Easter Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor is our 3-night Easter sailing run for people travelling alone: a single cabin priced as a single cabin from the start, not a twin with a supplement bolted on, and a group of no more than twelve, all of whom are on their own too. Departures are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday through both Easters — Western Easter on 28 March 2027 and Coptic Easter on 2 May 2027 — and the route is the classic one: Philae, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Karnak, Luxor Temple and the Valley of the Kings, with a licensed Egyptologist throughout.
Easter is the best sailing weather Egypt gets. The winter crowds have thinned, the summer heat has not arrived, and the days are long enough to see Edfu in the morning and Karnak in the late afternoon without either being a rush. Day four is the West Bank: the Valley of the Kings, the terraced temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon, before your transfer to Luxor airport or hotel.
Board on Friday 26 March 2027 and Easter Sunday falls on day three, between Edfu and Karnak; board on Friday 30 April and Coptic Easter Sunday is your Luxor day, with Sham el-Nessim — the spring holiday every Egyptian family spends outdoors — falling on your Valley of the Kings morning. Built during the Ptolemaic era, it features impressive carvings and towering pylons. Take your carriage back to your Nile River cruise ship to set sail to Luxor via the Lock of Esna. Upon arrival in Luxor, you will visit the impressive Temple of Karnak and the majestic Temple of Luxor. Both temples were dedicated to the Theban Triad; Amun, Mut and Khonsu.
