Twelve days is the length most first-time visitors settle on once they’ve worked out how much there is to see. It’s enough for Cairo, a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, and a proper stretch of coast or desert at the end — with a rest day or two absorbed into the middle, which matters more than people expect. All eight of our 12 day Egypt vacation packages are on this page, from $1,550 to $6,000 per person.
They all start in Cairo. The Giza plateau, the Grand Egyptian Museum, and — depending on the route — Coptic Cairo and the lanes of Khan el-Khalili. Two full days is the minimum that does the city justice, and all eight give you at least that.

At Egypt Best Vacations, we’re making this magic even more irresistible with unforgettable Egypt deals on our most popular Egypt tour packages, Nile cruises, and day tours!
Yes, comfortably. Our 12-day itineraries cover Cairo, Alexandria, a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, and a choice of Red Sea or desert time at the end. You’ll see the Pyramids, the Valley of the Kings, and Karnak at a pace that leaves room to breathe. For most travelers, 12 days is the sweet spot for a first or second visit.
Inclusions vary slightly by itinerary, but our packages typically cover:
– Airport transfers and all internal transport
– Hotels across our tiers — Gold properties hold the Egyptian “5-star standard” licence (roughly 3.5-star Western), Platinum the “5-star deluxe” licence (roughly 4-star Western), with Diamond and Elite available on request
– A Nile cruise — usually 4 nights Luxor to Aswan, or 3 nights Aswan to Luxor
– Breakfast daily, plus full board throughout the cruise
– Licensed Egyptologist guides and entrance fees to every site on the itinerary
– The option to add Red Sea snorkeling or a White Desert safari
Not included: international flights, the Egypt entry visa, gratuities, and optional add-ons. Each tour page lists its own inclusions in full.
Yes. The most common change is the final stretch:
– Red Sea (Hurghada or Sharm El-Sheikh) — snorkeling, diving, and beach time
– White Desert and Siwa Oasis — chalk rock formations, salt lakes, and hot springs
Tell us how you like to travel — family, honeymoon, solo, or adventure — and we’ll compare both with you before you book.
For most of them, yes. The Luxor–Aswan stretch takes in Edfu and Kom Ombo and shows you daily life along the river, which is hard to get any other way. Two itineraries on this page work differently: the Dahabiya sails a smaller traditional boat, and the Lake Nasser itinerary heads south toward Abu Simbel. If you’d rather skip the water entirely, we can build a land-only version.
Most run as small-group tours with a maximum of 16 travelers. Our Dahabiya and slow-travel itineraries are fully private. Whichever you’re looking at, it can be arranged as a private departure on request — tell your consultant when you ask for a quote and we’ll price it. Each tour page states which model applies as standard.
The main tourist zones — Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, Alexandria, and the Red Sea resorts — are well secured and routinely patrolled. We use licensed drivers, experienced guides, and hotels we know personally. Travelers from the USA, UK, Canada, and Australia complete these itineraries with us year-round. Use ordinary travel common sense, follow your guide’s advice, and you’ll feel comfortable.
October to April is the most comfortable window. Expect roughly 20–25°C (68–77°F) in Cairo and the Delta through the winter months, though Luxor and Aswan run warmer — often into the low 30s°C (high 80s°F) in October and April. Summer (June to August) is genuinely hot in the south but workable with early starts and air-conditioned transport, and it’s the quietest time at the sites. We shift the running order seasonally, adding more morning activity and indoor sites in the hot months.
Most nationalities, including the USA, UK, EU, Australia, and Canada, can get a 30-day tourist visa on arrival for $30 USD, or apply for an e-visa before travel. We send step-by-step visa guidance with your booking confirmation. We don’t process visas directly, but you’ll know exactly what to do.
Pick an itinerary from the list above and fill in the inquiry form on that tour page. We’ll email you a detailed day-by-day itinerary, transparent pricing with no hidden fees, and a secure payment link. If you’re torn between two, ask us to compare them — including small group versus private — and we’ll lay out the difference.
Three things. Alexandria — most 12-day tours skip it, and ours don’t. A real choice at the end — Red Sea or White Desert, not one forced option. Our own ground team — Egypt Best Vacations is run by a working Egyptologist based in Luxor, with our own guides and drivers rather than a subcontracted chain.
Yes, and it’s one of the most popular add-ons we arrange. Mention it to your travel consultant when you request your quote and we’ll pre-book it. Sunrise over the west bank is worth the early alarm.
Lightweight cotton or linen, a scarf for sun and for religious sites, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, swimwear for the cruise pool or the Red Sea, and a light jacket for winter evenings — desert and Nile nights get cooler than people expect. We send a full packing checklist after booking.
Yes, and many of our travelers are 60 and over. A private arrangement gives you a slower pace, and we can route around the steepest sections — skipping the descent into certain tombs, for example. Tell us in advance and we’ll plan around it.
