We spent 5 days in Cairo (with day trips to Alexandria and the oasis of El Fayoum) and 4 days on a Nile cruise, cared for with care and precision by Essam Ali and all his collaborators. We didn't have to worry about literally anything. Our every wish has been fulfilled, at no additional cost. The guides (all speaking excellent Italian) were nice and friendly, ready to give explanations and insights, seasoning everything with anecdotes and joking remarks. We have never had to wait too long for entrances to attractions, thanks to the excellent prior organization of ticket purchase guides. Good hotel standard in Cairo (with pool) and Nile Cruise. Transport and internal travel took place in a minibus (brand new and spotless, with air conditioning) of 12 seats exclusive to the 5 of us, by plane with flag carrier, by night train (there you have to adapt a bit, but it was still an "interesting" and comfortable experience). We also very much appreciated the excellent assistance at the airport on arrival and departure for the processing of visa paperwork and controls. We were on the smaller boat and in the end it was a private tour as it was just the 4 of us crew and guide. Everything was perfect from start to finish, the boat the program and the food. The guide, Essam, is a very knowledgeable Egyptologist and speaks perfect English. The staff of the very kind ship, one evening they taught us their dances while a group of musicians played on board. From breakfast to dinner we ate the best food of the whole holiday in Egypt (being an Egyptian company we always ate local). The cook also managed to improvise a great birthday cake for me. We sailed from Aswan to Luxor alternating visits to archaeological sites with relaxation on board, compared to motor ships navigation is slower and crowds are avoided. Although more expensive than classic cruises, I would highly recommend it to fully enjoy the experience of sailing along the NileVerified 3 beautiful days on felucca Actually it was a 3 days, 2 nights felucca cuise from Aswan to Kom Ombo. I was travelling with my son (23 yo) and we enjoyed it very much. The Nubian sailors were absolutely kind, the boat was simple but comfortable and relaxing, food very good, landscape beautiful. Our guide was not the best, but he is not the only one.
