Egypt Budget Tour With Nile Cruise In 8 Days

Day 1 Arrival in Cairo, Egypt

Skip the airport hassle and let Egypt’s magic begin! Your friendly “Egypt Best Vacations” representative will meet you with a smile and whisk you through arrival formalities. Relax and recharge at your hotel, knowing the adventure that awaits: eight glorious days sailing the Nile, unraveling ancient mysteries, and soaking in the sun-kissed charm of Egypt.

Day 2Giza Great Pyramids, Sphinx and Saqqara

Embark on the commencement of your extensive 8-day Egypt budget tour with Nile cruise, as a seasoned tour guide from Egypt Best Vacations collects you from your hotel. Your journey begins with an exploration of the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and Saqqara.

Today, you will visit the Giza Plateau. Today’s tour includes the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure with the great Sphinx. The only ancient wonder which still remains (Khufu’s pyramid) awaits you. Today you will learn about the history of the pyramids, how they were constructed, and why they were constructed.

Then on to the first pyramid in history, the Step Pyramid of King Djoser at Saqqara. Saqqara is one of the most important and richest necropolises in Egypt. It was the cemetery of Memphis, the 1st capital city of United Egypt in 3200 BCE.

Transfer to Giza Railway to board your sleeper train to Aswan to begin your 3-night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor.

Day 3Aswan Tour - Nile cruise

Your 8 days Egyptian budget tour embarks on a mesmerizing journey through history! For four glorious days, your comfortable Nile cruise will be your haven, gliding past ancient temples, vibrant cities, and breathtaking landscapes. Prepare to witness the timeless dance of sun and sand, where each bend in the Nile unveils a new chapter in Egypt’s story.

Our guide will meet and assist at Aswan Railway to commence your tour. Explore the highlights of the beautiful City of Aswan. Visit the High Dam, a great engineering feat of 1960s, to generate electricity and to stop floods. Then proceed to the beautiful Temple of Philae. This temple was built during the Greco-Roman era and dedicated to Isis, goddess of Magic and Love in ancient Egypt. End your tour at the granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk.

Transfer to your Nile River cruise ship. Free evening, you can discover the city of Aswan.

Optional tour: Nubian Village tour

Day 4Aswan - Kom Ombo Temple

Enjoy a free morning or join us on an optional tour to the phenomenal temples of Abu Simbel.

Your River Nile cruise ship will set sail to Kom Ombo around the lunchtime. Disembark at Kom Ombo to visit the twin Temple of gods Horus, and Sobek. The temple was built over the ruined temple of the New Kingdom. The temple began during the time of Ptolemy V and was completed by the time of Emperor Tiberius. The emperors Domitian, Caracalla, and others added to the temple. So it took about 400 years to finish.

Enjoy a short visit to the Crocodile Museum before you go back to your Nile cruise ship to set sail to Edfu. Overnight in Edfu.

Day 5Edfu - Esna - Luxor

Before/after breakfast, you will take a Horse and Carriage to visit the most intact temple in Egypt, the Temple of Horus in Edfu. The temple is very intact, none of its elements are missing but the Sacred Lake and two obelisks. The Sacred Lake was on the east side of the temple but now vanished under the city’s modern houses. The two obelisks were located in front of the main gate of the temple. The Temple of Edfu is fully inscribed with reliefs and hieroglyphs on its exterior and interior walls.

Take your carriage back to your Nile River cruise ship to set sail to Luxor via the lock of Esna. As Luxor rises from the Nile’s embrace, prepare to be swept away by its ancient magic. Today, you stand face-to-face with two colossal testaments to Egypt’s enduring faith: the impressive Karnak Temple and the majestic Luxor Temple.

As the sun begins its descent, casting long shadows on the ancient stones, return to your Nile cruise ship. Savor the memories of today’s epic encounters, knowing that tomorrow, Luxor’s wonders await you yet again.

Day 6Luxor West Bank - Train back to Cairo

Disembarkation. Visit the magnificent Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs of the New Kingdom were buried. There are 65 tombs there, and your guide will recommend the best three are open to visit. From the Valley of the Kings to the unique Temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut, who ruled Egypt for about 20 years as a sole pharaoh. You will end your tour with a photo stop at the giant Colossi of Memnon of Amenhotep III.

Transfer to Luxor Railway to board your sleeper train back to Cairo

Optional tour: Sunrise Hot Air Balloon over Luxor

Day 7Egyptian Museum, Saladin Citadel and Khan El-Khalili

Explore the fantastic contents of the historical Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square in Cairo. Hundreds of objects from all periods of the Egyptian past are displayed on two floors of the museum.

From the museum to the Citadel of the Sunni Muslim leader Saladin, which was built in 1172 to protect Cairo against the Crusaders. The White Mosque of Mohammed Ali Pasha is a prominent feature of the Citadel. You will finish your tour today at the historical bazaar of Khan el Khalili, the largest bazaar in the Middle East.

Transfer back to your hotel for the final night of your Egypt budget tour and Nile cruise in 8 days.
