Awesome Jordan and Egypt Tour in 15 Days

Day 1 Arrive in Amman, Jordan

Upon arriving at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, you will be greeted and assisted by our representative from “Egypt Best Vacations.” They will guide you through the arrival procedures and assist with visa regulations. Following this, you will be transferred to your hotel, marking the commencement of your awesome Egypt and Jordan tour in 15 days.

Day 2Full-day Petra

Visit in a full day the very famous Petra ruins. Petra or the Rose City is famous for its distinctive red sandstone. This remarkable city of temples and houses was carved out of sheer rock some 2,000 years ago by a nomadic people called the Nabataeans. From this stone stronghold, they were able to control the ancient trade routes of Arabia, establishing a kingdom that became known for its exquisite architecture and refined culture. Making your way on foot through a slim fissure in the rock of the ‘Siq’ mountains you will encounter the dramatic treasury plus the Street of Facades, the Court House and the Amphitheatre. If there is time you can even climb the 1,200 steps to the Monastery. Then, transfer back to your hotel. 

Day 3Explore Jerash & Nebo

Visit the ruined City of Jerash, the largest and most interesting Roman site in Jordan. Jerash or Jarash, is one of the world’s best preserved ancient Roman sites. Once known as Gerasa, Jerash is believed to have been inhabited since the Neolithic Era. However, it is the impressive Roman city built in Jerash which has left its greatest mark on the area, becoming Jordan’s second most popular tourist site after Petra.

Then proceed to the Greek Church of Saint George. The Church of Saint George at Madaba is an early Byzantine church also Known as the “Church of the Map”. You will finish your day at Mount Nebo where Moses was buried according to Christian traditions. Then, transfer to your hotel in the Dead Sea city. 

Day 4Enjoy Dead Sea

Enjoy your time on the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. The Dead Sea is located at the lowest point on earth, which is thought to be the result of volcanic processes leading to a continuous dropping of land. Day 5Amman to Cairo

Day 6Tour to Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Saqqara

Today, you will visit the Giza Plateau. Today’s tour includes the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure with the great Sphinx. The only ancient wonder which still remains (Khufu’s pyramid) awaits you. Today you will learn about the history of the pyramids, how they were constructed, and why they were constructed.

Then on to the first pyramid in history, the Step Pyramid of King Djoser at Saqqara. Saqqara is one of the most important and richest necropolises in Egypt. It was the cemetery of Memphis, the 1st capital city of United Egypt in 3200 BCE. Then, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 7Fly to Luxor - Nile Cruise Vacation

The upcoming four nights of your amazing 15-day Jordan and Egypt tour will be aboard a River Nile cruise. Begin this segment by transferring to Cairo Airport and taking a flight to Luxor, where you will embark on a captivating 4-night Nile cruise, journeying from Luxor to Aswan.

Meet your guide just outside the arrival terminal at Luxor Airport to commence your tour. Explore the largest temple in the world, the Temple of Karnak, and the majestic Temple of Luxor. Both temples were dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Then, transfer to your Nile cruise ship. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 8Visit Kings Valley, Hatshepsut Temple and Colossi of Memnon

Visit the glorious tombs of the Valley of the Kings. The pharaohs during the New Kingdom ceased building pyramids and cut their tombs deep into the mountain trying to hide them from grave robbers. There are 65 tombs at the Valley of the Kings, your guide will recommend the best three tombs of the ones open to visit.

From the glorious Valley of the Kings to the unique temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut who served as solo pharaoh for about 20 years. You will end your trip at the giant Colossi of Memnon which survives from the temple of pharaoh Amenhotep III. Then, return back to your Nile cruise ship to set sail to Edfu via the Lock of Esna. Overnight in Edfu.

Day 9Explore Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples

Take a horse and carriage to the Temple of Horus in Edfu. This temple is the most intact temple in Egypt, and it was built during the Greco-Roman period. The Temple of Edfu is fully inscribed with reliefs and hieroglyphs on its exterior and interior walls.

Take your carriage back to your Nile cruise to set sail to Kom Ombo. In Kom Ombo you will visit the twin temple of Sobek, the Crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. Then proceed to the Crocodile Museum in the vicinity of the temple. Return back to your cruise ship to set sail to Aswan where it moors for the next two days.

Day 10Aswan Tour

Welcome to the lovely City of Aswan. Your Aswan tour includes the largest engineering project in the 1960s of the High Dam. Then proceed to the granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk. End your tour at the amazing Temple of Philae. This temple was built during the Greco-Roman era and dedicated to Isis, goddess of Love and Magic in ancient Egypt. Then, transfer back to your river cruise ship for a free evening in Aswan.

Day 11Fly back to Cairo

Bid adieu to the golden sands of Aswan and the rhythmic pulse of the Nile. Disembark from your cruise, carrying memories of ancient temples bathed in sunset hues and starlit nights on the river’s gentle embrace. Transfer to Aswan Airport, where a short flight whisks you back to the bustling heart of Cairo. Watch the vast desert landscape unfold beneath you, picturing the ancient pharaohs’ journeys across these golden sands.

Day 12Explore Egyptian Museum, Saladin Citadel and Khan El-Khalili

Explore the fantastic contents of the historical Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square in Cairo. Hundreds of objects from all periods of the Egyptian past are displayed on the two floors of the museum.

From the museum to the Citadel of the Sunni Muslim leader Saladin, which was built in 1172 to protect Cairo against the Crusaders. The White Mosque of Mohammed Ali Pasha is a prominent feature of the citadel. You will finish your tour today at the historical bazaar of Khan El-Khalili, the largest bazaar in the Middle East. Then, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 13Spiritual Cairo Tour

Enjoy a spiritual tour to the Community of Religions in Cairo. The tour includes the famous Hanging Church. Cairo’s Church of the Saint Virgin Mary was built on the ruins of the Roman Babylon Fortress. Because of its location over the ruins of the fortress, it is known as Al Mo’llaqah Chruch or the “Hanging Chruch.”

From the Hanging Church to the nearby Abu Serga Church. Abu Serga church was built around the end of the fourth century or the start of the fifth century AD. The church was named after the two saints Sergius and Bacchus, who were martyred near Syria in the 4th century AD after accepting Christianity during the reign of the Roman Emperor Maximian. The Abu Serga Church is a basilica with an entrance, a nave, and three altars.

You will end your Cairo Spiritual Tour at the Synagogue of Ben Ezra, (sometimes is closed due to restoration). The Synagogue is named after the great Jewish Rabbi Ezra the Scribe. The Ben Ezra Synagogue is one of Egypt’s largest synagogues. The synagogue was originally an orthodox church that was sold to Jews for 20,000 Dinars in 882 AD, to pay the taxes levied by Egypt’s ruler, Ahmed Ibn Tulun. Then, transfer back to your hotel in Cairo.
