Visit the ruined City of Jerash, the largest and most interesting Roman site in Jordan. Jerash or Jarash, is one of the world’s best preserved ancient Roman sites. Once known as Gerasa, Jerash is believed to have been inhabited since the Neolithic Era. Upon landing in Cairo, the legendary warmth of Egyptian hospitality washes over you. Our friendly representative from “Egypt Best Vacations” greets you with a welcoming smile and efficiently navigates you through the arrival formalities. Transfer to your hotel in Cairo. 

Today, you will visit the Giza Plateau. Today’s tour includes the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure with the great Sphinx. The only ancient wonder which still remains (Khufu’s pyramid) awaits you. Today you will learn about the history of the pyramids, how they were constructed, and why they were constructed.

Then on to the first pyramid in history of humanity, the Step Pyramid of King Djoser at Saqqara. Saqqara is one of the most important and richest necropolises in Egypt. It was the cemetery of Memphis, the 1^st capital city of United Egypt in 3200 BCE.

The subsequent five days of your 12-day Magnificent Egypt & Jordan Tour will be aboard a River Nile cruise. Begin this segment by transferring to Cairo Airport, where you will catch a flight to Luxor, marking the commencement of your four-night Nile River cruise from Luxor to Aswan.

Meet your guide just outside the arrival terminal at Luxor Airport to commence your tour. Explore the largest temple in the world, the Temple of Karnak, and the majestic Temple of Luxor. Both temples were dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. 

Transfer to your Nile cruise ship. Overnight in Luxor.

Today, you will visit the glorious tombs of the Valley of the Kings. The pharaohs during the New Kingdom ceased building pyramids and cut their tombs deep into the mountain trying to hide them from grave robbers. There are 65 tombs at the Valley of the Kings, your guide will recommend the best three tombs of the open ones to visit.

Transfer back to your Nile cruise ship to sail to Edfu via the Lock of Esna. Overnight in Edfu.

Take a horse and carriage to visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. This temple is the most intact temple in Egypt and it was built during the Greco-Roman period. The Temple of Edfu is fully inscribed with reliefs and hieroglyphs on its exterior and interior walls. 

Take your carriage back to your Nile cruise ship to set sail to Kom Ombo. Visit the twin temple of Sobek, the Crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. Then proceed to the Crocodile Museum in the vicinity of the temple. After the tour, the ship will sail up to Aswan where it moors for the next two days.

Welcome to the lovely City of Aswan. Your tour includes the largest engineering project in the 1960s, the High Dam, then to granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk, and the amazing Temple of Philae. This temple was built during the Greco-Roman period and dedicated to Isis, goddess of Love and Magic in ancient Egypt.
