This 4 day Cairo and Luxor Easter tour is a private trip for the Easter holidays with three hotel nights in Cairo and a full day in Luxor by air. It runs every day over Easter, from $1,025 per person, with the flights to and from Luxor, entrance fees, six meals and an Egyptologist guide included.
The idea is simple: you keep one hotel in Cairo and never repack. Day two covers the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum. On day three an early flight takes you to Luxor, where a guide and vehicle are waiting, and you see the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, Karnak and Luxor Temple before the evening flight back. The last morning is spent in Coptic and Islamic Cairo before your transfer to the airport.
That last morning is what makes this an Easter trip. In Coptic Cairo you visit the Hanging Church and the Church of Abu Serga, built over the crypt where tradition says the Holy Family sheltered during the flight into Egypt. Egypt has two Easters. Western churches celebrate Easter Sunday on 28 March 2027, and the Coptic Orthodox Church, to which most Egyptian Christians belong, celebrates it on 2 May 2027. The day after Coptic Easter, Monday 3 May 2027, is Sham el-Nessim, a spring festival with roots in ancient Egypt, when families across the country picnic outdoors. All the sites on this tour stay open on all three days.

Our representative meets you inside the arrivals hall at Cairo International Airport with a signboard, helps you through the visa and passport formalities, and takes you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free before your 4 day Cairo and Luxor Easter tour begins.
Meals Plan: No Meals Included
The day starts at the Great Pyramids of Giza. You stand at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, built around 2560 BC and originally 146 metres high, then see the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure and the Sphinx beside Khafre’s valley temple.
After lunch at a local restaurant you visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, two kilometres from the pyramids. The colossal statue of Ramses II stands in the entrance hall, the Grand Staircase climbs past statues of kings and gods to a window facing the pyramids, and the Tutankhamun galleries show the complete contents of his tomb, more than 5,000 objects, together for the first time since 1922.

An early flight takes you from Cairo to Luxor, about an hour away, where your Luxor guide and vehicle are waiting. You begin on the west bank in the Valley of the Kings, going down into three royal tombs. Next is the terraced Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. Hatshepsut began as regent for Thutmose III and went on to rule as a crowned king in full pharaonic regalia, with his regnal years still running alongside hers. On the way back to the river you stop at the Colossi of Memnon.
After lunch at a local restaurant you cross to the east bank. Karnak is the largest religious complex ever built, covering about 100 hectares, and you walk through its Hypostyle Hall of 134 columns. The day ends at Luxor Temple before the evening flight back to Cairo and your hotel.

After breakfast and check-out you visit the Citadel of Saladin, begun in 1176, and inside its walls the Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali, whose terrace looks across the whole city.
You then go to Coptic Cairo, the oldest Christian quarter of the city. The Hanging Church is built over a gate of the Roman fortress of Babylon. Abu Serga Church stands over the crypt where tradition says the Holy Family sheltered during the flight into Egypt. A few steps away is Ben Ezra Synagogue, where the medieval documents of the Cairo Geniza were found.
After lunch you have time in the lanes of Khan el-Khalili bazaar, and then we take you to Cairo International Airport for your flight home, at the end of your 4 day Cairo and Luxor Easter tour.
