Day 1 Arrive in Amman, Jordan

Upon arriving at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, you will be greeted and assisted by our representative from “Egypt Best Vacations.” They will guide you through the arrival procedures and assist with visa regulations. Following this, you will be transferred to your hotel, marking the commencement of your incredible 21 day Egypt and Jordan tour package.

Day 2Full-day Petra

Visit in a full day the very famous Petra ruins. Petra or the Rose City is famous for its distinctive red sandstone. This remarkable city of temples and houses was carved out of sheer rock some 2,000 years ago by a nomadic people called the Nabataeans. From this stone stronghold, they were able to control the ancient trade routes of Arabia, establishing a kingdom that became known for its exquisite architecture and refined culture. Making your way on foot through a slim fissure in the rock of the ‘Siq’ mountains you will encounter the dramatic treasury plus the Street of Facades, the Court House and the Amphitheatre. If there is time you can even climb the 1,200 steps to the Monastery. Transfer to your hotel. 

Day 3Little Petra - Wadi Rum

Step back in time as you explore the captivating beauty of Little Petra, a lesser-known archaeological site nestled amidst the rugged landscapes of southern Jordan. Day 4Jerash & Ajloun

Today with your Egypt and Jordan tour package, you will visit the ruined City of Jerash, the largest and most interesting Roman site in Jordan. Jerash or Jarash, is one of the world’s best preserved ancient Roman sites. Once known as Gerasa, Jerash is believed to have been inhabited since the Neolithic Era. However, it is the impressive Roman city built in Jerash which has left its greatest mark on the area, becoming Jordan’s second most popular tourist site after Petra.

Then proceed to the Ajloun Castle. Ajloun Castle is a historic fortress built in the 12th century by the Ayyubids to defend against Crusader invasions. Nestled in the hills northwest of Amman, it offers breathtaking views of the Jordan Valley and the surrounding landscape. Head to your hotel

Day 5Madaba & Mount Nebo

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel then proceed to Madaba. Madaba, known as the “City of Mosaics,” is renowned for its stunning Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, including the famous 6th-century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Visit the Greek Church of Saint George. The Church of Saint George at Madaba is an early Byzantine church also Known as the “Church of the Map”. 

Continue to Mount Nebo.  Mount Nebo, a significant biblical site, is where Moses is believed to have viewed the Promised Land before his death. It offers panoramic views of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and even Jerusalem on clear days. Visit the well-preserved Byzantine church and its stunning mosaics, adding to the site’s historical and spiritual appeal. Transfer to your hotel in the Dead Sea city.

Day 6Dead Sea

Enjoy your time on the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. The Dead Sea is located at the lowest point on earth, which is thought to be the result of volcanic processes leading to a continuous dropping of land. Day 8Amman - Cairo

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, a friendly representative from Egypt Best Vacations will greet you with a warm smile. Navigate the arrival formalities and visa regulations with ease, knowing you are in good hands. Proceed to your hotel in Cairo.

Day 9Giza Great Pyramids, Sphinx and Saqqara

Today, you will visit the Giza Plateau. Today’s tour includes the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure with the great Sphinx. The only ancient wonder which still remains (Khufu’s pyramid) awaits you. Today you will learn about the history of the pyramids, how they were constructed, and why they were constructed.

Then on to the first pyramid in history, the Step Pyramid of King Djoser at Saqqara. Saqqara is one of the most important and richest necropolises in Egypt. It was the cemetery of Memphis, the 1st capital city of United Egypt in 3200 BCE.

Transfer back to your hotel.

Day 10Alexandria wonders

Embark on a captivating journey to the picturesque city of Alexandria, adding another enchanting day to your Egypt and Jordan tour package. Renowned as the capital during the Greco-Roman era, Alexandria invites you to delve into its rich history and discover the timeless allure that graced this ancient city.

Upon arrival, you will visit the famous Roman Catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa. The catacombs are huge Egyptian tombs and royal cemeteries with Ptolemaic and Roman influences. The catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa are one the largest Roman burial sites not just in Alexandria but in Egypt. These catacombs started as a private tomb for a wealthy family, then became a public cemetery. The catacombs house more than 300 tombs.

From the catacombs to the nearby Pompey’s Pillar. Many of the ancient historians did not tell us more details about the “Pompey’s Pillar” but about the buildings that stood nearby and have disappeared now. The hill on which the pillar is erected was covered with temples and houses a long time before the Roman era. It was the place of the Citadel of Rhakotis. A temple was dedicated to Osiris-Serapis was built on the mountain.

From the Pompey’s Pillar to the magnificent Citadel of Qaitbay. The Citadel of Qaitbay in Alexandria is one of the most important fortifications in Egypt. It was constructed by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay to defend Egypt against the Ottomans/Turks.

You will end your tour in Alexandria by visiting the Library of Alexandria from the outside. Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant then travel back to Cairo.

Day 11Egyptian Museum, Saladin Citadel and Khan El-Khalili

Explore the fantastic contents of the historical Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square in Cairo. Hundreds of objects from all periods of the Egyptian past are displayed on the two floors of the museum.

From the museum to the Citadel of the Sunni Muslim leader Saladin, which was built in 1172 to protect Cairo against the Crusaders. The White Mosque of Mohammed Ali Pasha is a prominent feature of the citadel. You will finish your tour today at the historical bazaar of Khan El-Khalili, the largest bazaar in the Middle East. 

Transfer back to your hotel.

Day 12Fly to Luxor - Nile Cruise

The upcoming four nights of your amazing 21-day Egypt and Jordan tour package will be aboard a River Nile cruise. Begin this segment by transferring to Cairo Airport and taking a flight to Luxor, where you will embark on a captivating 4-night Nile cruise, journeying from Luxor to Aswan.

Meet your guide just outside the arrival terminal at Luxor Airport to commence your tour. Explore the largest temple in the world, the Temple of Karnak, and the majestic Temple of Luxor. Both temples were dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu.

Transfer to your Nile cruise ship. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 13Kings Valley, Hatshepsut Temple and Colossi of Memnon

Visit the glorious tombs of the Valley of the Kings. The pharaohs during the New Kingdom ceased building pyramids and cut their tombs deep into the mountain trying to hide them from grave robbers. There are 65 tombs at the Valley of the Kings, your guide will recommend the best three tombs of the ones open to visit.

From the glorious Valley of the Kings to the unique temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut who served as solo pharaoh for about 20 years. You will end your trip at the giant Colossi of Memnon which survives from the temple of pharaoh Amenhotep III.

Back to your Nile cruise ship to set sail to Edfu via the Lock of Esna. Overnight in Edfu.

Day 14Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples

Take a horse and carriage to the Temple of Horus in Edfu. This temple is the most intact temple in Egypt, and it was built during the Greco-Roman period. The Temple of Edfu is fully inscribed with reliefs and hieroglyphs on its exterior and interior walls.

Take your carriage back to your Nile cruise to set sail to Kom Ombo. In Kom Ombo you will visit the twin temple of Sobek, the Crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. Then proceed to the Crocodile Museum in the vicinity of the temple. Back to your cruise ship to set sail to Aswan where it moors for the next two days.

Day 15Abu Simbel temples

One of the great highlights of this Egypt and Jordan tour is a trip to Abu Simbel temples. Early rise to visit the phenomenal temples of Abu Simbel. The Abu Simbel Temples are two massive rock temples built by Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BCE. These temples, dedicated to Ramses II and his queen Nefertari, are renowned for their colossal statues and intricate carvings. Located near the Sudanese border, they were relocated in the 1960s to save them from flooding due to the Aswan High Dam‘s construction. The Great Temple features four giant statues of Ramses II seated on his throne, while the smaller Temple of Hathor honors Nefertari. These UNESCO World Heritage sites are a testament to ancient Egyptian engineering and artistic prowess. 

Return back to your Nile cruise have your lunch on board.

Day 16Aswan Tour - Fly back to Cairo

Breakfast, followed by disembarkation, then visit Aswan wonders. Your tour includes the largest engineering project in the 1960s of the High Dam. Then proceed to the granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk. End your tour at the amazing Temple of Philae. This temple was built during the Greco-Roman era and dedicated to Isis, goddess of Love and Magic in ancient Egypt.

Bid adieu to the golden sands of Aswan and the rhythmic pulse of the Nile. Transfer to Aswan Airport, where a short flight whisks you back to the bustling heart of Cairo. Day 17Cairo to White Desert

Embark with your Egypt and Jordan tour on an early morning departure from Cairo heading towards the Bahariya Oasis. Savor a delicious lunch and gear up for an exciting adventure. Hop onto a 4×4 Jeep to explore the Black Desert and proceed to the Hez Village to relish the refreshing natural cold springs. Day 19Spiritual Cairo

Embark on a spiritual journey to the Community of Religions in Cairo, highlighting the renowned Coptic Hanging Church. The Church of the Saint Virgin Mary, also known as Al Mo’llaqah or the “Hanging Church,” stands on the ancient ruins of the Roman Babylon Fortress, adding a unique historical dimension to its significance.

Next, visit the Abu Serga Church, situated within the modern Old Cairo, amidst the ancient Roman fortress of Babylon. Noteworthy for the Holy Family’s connection, as they once drank from a well within the church, it holds a distinctive place among Egyptian Coptic churches.

Continue your exploration to the Synagogue of Ben Ezra, a significant and expansive Jewish place of worship in Cairo, named in honor of the esteemed Rabbi Ezra the Scribe.
