After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will kick you Cairo spiritual tour to Saladin Citadel. Within the citadel’s walls, you’ll find a fascinating blend of architectural styles, from the medieval Islamic fortifications to the ornate Ottoman mosques. Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant then proceed to Coptic Cairo suburb. Here, you will visit the Hanging Church. Suspended above a Roman gatehouse, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the city’s rich history and religious heritage. Head to Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church, known as Abu Serga Church. Today, on your 12-day luxury trip to Egypt, you will explore the enchanting City of Alexandria, which served as the capital during the Greco-Roman era. Your tour includes the famous Roman Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. The catacombs are huge Egyptian tombs and royal cemeteries with Ptolemaic and Roman influences. The catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa are one the largest Roman burial sites not just in Alexandria but in Egypt. These catacombs started as a private tomb for a wealthy family, then became a public cemetery. The catacombs house more than 300 tombs.

From the catacombs to the Pompey’s Pillar. Many of the ancient historians did not tell us more details about the “Pompey’s Pillar” but about the buildings that stood nearby and have disappeared now. The hill on which the pillar is erected was covered with temples and houses a long time before the Roman era. It was the place of the Citadel of Rhakotis. A temple was dedicated to Osiris-Serapis was built on the mountain.

Then proceed to the Citadel of Qaitbay. The Citadel of Qaitbay in Alexandria is one of the most important fortifications in Egypt. It was constructed by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay to defend Egypt against the Ottomans/Turks.

Meet your guide just outside the arrival terminal at Aswan Airport to commence your tour. Your first stop will be at the High Dam, a dam built in the 1960s, to generate hydroelectricity and to stop floods. Then proceed to explore the Temple of Philae, which was built primarily during the Ptolemaic period and is one of the most incredible temples in Egypt. It was due to the construction of the two dams in Aswan that UNESCO had to relocate the temple. End your journey at the granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk. Then transfer to your Nile cruise ship. Overnight in Aswan.

Your luxury Nile River cruise will set sail down to Kom Ombo around the lunchtime. Disembark at Kom Ombo to visit the Twin Temple of Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. This temple was built during the Greco-Roman period. It was built over the ruined temple of the New Kingdom. The temple began during the time of Ptolemy V and was completed by the time of Emperor Tiberius. The emperors Domitian, Caracalla, and others added to the temple. So it took about 400 years to finish.

At the end of your tour, you will have a short visit to the Crocodile Museum then the ship will proceed down to Edfu, where it will dock. Overnight in Edfu.

After/before breakfast, you will take a horse-drawn carriage to visit Edfu’s Temple of Horus. This temple was built during the Greco-Roman era and is the most intact temple in Egypt. The Temple of Edfu is fully inscribed with reliefs and hieroglyphs on its exterior and interior walls.

Take your carriage back to your cruise ship to set sail from Edfu to Luxor via the Lock of Esna. Once you reach Luxor, you will have the chance to explore the largest temple in Egypt, the Temple of Karnak, which was built by several pharaohs. Then, proceed to the majestic Temple of Luxor, which is connected to Karnak by the ceremonial avenue of the Sphinxes which was recently restored. These two temples were dedicated to Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, the Theban Triad.

You will disembark from your Nile cruise ship after breakfast in order to explore the western side of Luxor. In the first part of your tour, you will have the chance to explore the magnificent tombs of the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom were buried to be hidden from grave robbers.
