Egypt Itinerary 3 Days

The shortest trip that still feels like Egypt

What Three Days in Egypt Really Buys You

Three days means two nights. Take out the arrival evening and the departure morning and you have roughly one and a half days of actual sightseeing. We would rather say that plainly than sell you a country tour that does not exist.

What that buys you is one city, done properly. A well-built Egypt itinerary 3 days long is a city break with pyramids in it, and on those terms it works beautifully — Cairo alone holds the Giza plateau, the Grand Egyptian Museum, Coptic and Islamic Cairo and Khan El-Khalili, which is more than most capitals offer in a week.

The mistake is spreading three days across two cities that need a flight between them. It can be done, and we sell it, but you lose a half day to airports and check-ins, and you get less of both places than you would have had of one. If your dates are fixed at three days, the honest advice is to pick a single destination. If you want Cairo and Luxor together, four or five days transforms the trip.

Everything on this page runs as a private tour. Under seven days we do not sell shared departures at all, so you travel with your own Egyptologist guide, your own driver and your own vehicle, and you set the pace.

Great tour. Our guide Essam was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and articulated the tour well. Offering our group good advice on how to customize our tour based on our interests. He was sure to warn us on all potential scams aswell as unnecessary/non affiliated persons. He also went above by making our restaurant reservations for us.

Related FAQs About Egypt Itinerary 3 Days

Most Asked Questions about 3 Days Egypt Vacation Packages

Is three days enough time for Egypt?

Enough for one city, done well. Three days means two nights and roughly a day and a half of real sightseeing once arrival and departure are taken out. That covers Cairo or Luxor or Aswan properly. It does not cover the country, and it does not comfortably cover two cities with a flight between them.

What is the best three-day Egypt itinerary?

Cairo, for most first-time visitors — the Giza pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum, Old Cairo and Khan El-Khalili, with no internal flights eating into your time. If you have already seen Cairo, or you care more about temples than a capital city, Luxor is the better three days and it costs less.

Are these tours private or shared?

All private. We do not run shared departures on anything under seven days, so every itinerary here comes with your own Egyptologist guide, your own driver and your own vehicle. It is not an upgrade you pay extra for — it is how these trips are built.

Can I do Cairo and Luxor in three days?

Yes, and we sell that itinerary — but you should know what it costs you. It means a domestic flight, two hotel check-ins and early starts on both mornings, and you get a compressed version of each city rather than a full version of one. If a fourth day is possible, it changes the trip considerably.

Can I visit Abu Simbel in three days?

Yes. You can visit Cairo, then fly to Abu Simbel, and we  not offer that combination.

How much does a three-day Egypt trip cost?

From $350 for Luxor Highlights to $750 for Cairo and Luxor combined, per person sharing a twin room in low season. Prices vary by season and hotel tier.

Do the packages include domestic flights?

Only where the itinerary needs one. The Cairo and Luxor package includes its internal flight; the single-city itineraries and the White Desert trip do not require one. International flights to and from Egypt are never included.

Is Alexandria worth adding to three days?

Only if you are already in Egypt and have a spare day. Alexandria is around three hours from Cairo each way, so as a day trip inside a three-day holiday it consumes most of a day you cannot spare. It works far better on a four or five day itinerary. The one Alexandria package on this page is built for travellers already staying in Hurghada.

Which airport should I fly into?

Cairo for the Cairo-based itineraries. If you are booking Luxor Highlights or Aswan Highlights, flying directly into Luxor or Aswan saves you a significant part of a very short trip — worth checking before you book a Cairo arrival.

What is the best time of year for a three-day trip?

October to April. The shorter the trip, the more the weather matters, because a lost afternoon is a much larger share of the holiday.

Can I extend one of these itineraries?

Yes, and on a trip this short we often suggest it. Adding a single day opens up combinations that do not work in three. Tell us your dates and what you most want to see, and we will build the itinerary rather than sell you the nearest fit.
