9 Day Egypt Tours

Cairo, the Nile and the Red Sea, without the rush

What Nine Days in Egypt Actually Buys You

Nine days is the point where Egypt stops being a highlights reel. You get Cairo and the Giza plateau properly, three or four nights on the Nile between Luxor and Aswan, and enough left over for one more thing — Alexandria, Siwa Oasis, or a stretch of Red Sea coast. Seven days makes you choose between those. Nine doesn’t.

There is a wide collection of 9 day Egypt tours on this page, starting at $1,175 per person. They split into four route types, which is the only distinction that really matters when you’re comparing them: cruise-based, cruise plus a second region, land-only through the Western Desert, and Cairo paired with the Red Sea.

I’m Essam Ali, a professional Egyptologist and the owner of Egypt Best Vacations. We’re a licensed Egyptian tour operator based in Luxor, not an agency reselling somebody else’s trip. The guides, the vehicles, the hotel contracts and the cruise cabins are ours. If something needs sorting at nine on a Friday night, you’re calling the people who can actually sort it.

    Fantastic

Great tour. Our guide Essam was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and articulated the tour well. Offering our group good advice on how to customize our tour based on our interests. He was sure to warn us on all potential scams aswell as unnecessary/non affiliated persons. He also went above by making our restaurant reservations for us.

We enjoyed our Egypt travels through Egypt Best Vacations. Essam is the best tour coordinator and guide one can find! I am so glad we found him because he made our trip memorable in so many ways! He was always able to make the tours fun by telling us stories of the past in engaging ways! He was always helpful and gave us honest guidance regarding all local experiences eg. How to behave with street vendors. You felt you could trust him and rely on him fully through the travel!

Related FAQs About 9 Day Egypt Tours

Most Asked Questions about 9 Day Egypt Vacation Packages

How much does a 9 day Egypt tour cost?

Nine-day Egypt tours with Egypt Best Vacations start at $1,175 per person, based on two people sharing a room. Most itineraries fall between $1,175 and $1,995 depending on hotel standard, vessel type and how many domestic flights the route needs. Cruise-ship routes begin at $1,370, Dahabiya sailings at $1,965, and the 2027 solar eclipse itinerary is priced separately at $5,050 because of the fixed date. Prices are land-only and exclude international flights, your $30 entry visa, travel insurance and gratuities.

What is included in a 9 day Egypt tour package?

Every nine-day package includes a representative meeting you inside the arrivals terminal with a signboard to assist with passport and visa formalities, private airport transfers, hotel and cruise accommodation at the standard shown, a licensed Egyptologist guide throughout, all entrance fees, an air-conditioned private vehicle with driver, daily breakfast with full board on cruise days, and direct support from our Luxor office. Domestic flights are included where the route requires them. International airfare, your entry visa, travel insurance and gratuities are not included.

What can you see in 9 days in Egypt?

Nine days covers Cairo, Upper Egypt and one additional region. In Cairo that means the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Upper Egypt means Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae, usually from a Nile cruise. The ninth-day extra is where the itineraries differ: Alexandria, Siwa Oasis, Lake Nasser and Abu Simbel, or four days on the Red Sea at Hurghada.

Is a Nile cruise included in a 9-day Egypt tour?

Most of our nine-day itineraries include three or four nights on the Nile. Cruise ships sail between Luxor and Aswan, stopping at Edfu and Kom Ombo. Two itineraries use a Dahabiya instead — a small sailing boat with a handful of cabins that moors at quieter sites — and two use a felucca, which is simpler and cheaper. Land-only nine-day routes that skip the river entirely are also available, pairing Cairo with Alexandria, Siwa or the Red Sea.

Are 9 day Egypt tours private or small group?

Nine-day itineraries run as small-group tours with a maximum of 16 travellers, which keeps the group small enough to hear the guide inside a tomb. Luxury and slow-travel packages run fully private as standard. Any itinerary on this page can also be arranged as a private departure on request, at a supplement — useful for families, couples or a group booking the whole trip together. Nile cruise ships are shared vessels in both cases; the difference is in the guiding and shore excursions.

Do 9 day Egypt tours include domestic flights?

It depends on the route. Any nine-day itinerary reaching Aswan will use a domestic flight in at least one direction, because the Cairo–Aswan road journey would consume two days of a nine-day trip. Cairo–Alexandria–Siwa itineraries travel entirely by road, since Siwa has no commercial airport. Cairo–Luxor routes vary. Where flights are included they are already in the quoted price, and each itinerary page states exactly which applies.

How much do children pay on a 9 day Egypt tour?

On nine-day tours without domestic flights, children under 6 travel free, children aged 6 to 11 pay 50% of the adult rate, and from 12 the adult rate applies. On packages that include domestic flights the airline’s own fare structure applies instead: ages 0 to 2 pay 30%, ages 3 to 5 pay 40%, ages 6 to 11 pay 50%, and from 12 the adult rate applies. Children share their parents’ room at these rates.

Is 9 days enough time for Egypt?

Yes, for a first visit covering Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and one more region. Nine days is the shortest trip that fits the Pyramids, a full Nile cruise and a third destination without feeling compressed. Eight days does Cairo and a cruise well but forces you to drop the third destination. Ten days adds a genuine rest day and makes Abu Simbel a comfortable trip rather than a pre-dawn round journey. Below eight days, Upper Egypt is what gets cut, and it’s the part most people regret missing.

Do I need a visa for a 9 day trip to Egypt?

Most nationalities do. A tourist visa on arrival costs $30 and is bought at the airport, or you can apply for an e-Visa online before you travel. Citizens of the UK, US, Canada, Australia and most EU countries are eligible for both. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date. Requirements vary by nationality, so check the official Egyptian e-Visa portal for your own passport before booking flights. Our representative meets you inside the terminal and assists with the formalities.

When is the best time for a 9 day Egypt tour?

October to April, when daytime temperatures sit in the mid-20s Celsius and sightseeing is comfortable across Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. November to February is the peak and fills earliest. May to September is hot — 40°C is routine in Upper Egypt — but a nine-day cruise-based itinerary handles it well with early starts, and prices and crowds both drop considerably. Book three to six months ahead for October–April travel, and longer for Christmas, New Year and Easter.
