Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Cairo, Egypt

One of our representatives will meet you at Cairo International Airport to help you through the arrival and visa regulations. Transfer to your hotel for free time and get ready to start your 7 days Egypt Cairo & Nile River Cruise from India.

Overnight in Cairo

Day 2Giza Great Pyramids, Sphinx and Saqqara

Our professional tour guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning for your visit to the Giza Plateau, where you will have an opportunity to explore Khufu’s Great Pyramid, Khafre’s Pyramid, Menkaure’s Pyramid, and the Great Sphinx. Your Egyptologist tour guide will explain to you how and why the Ancient Egyptian kings built their Pyramids. He will tell you about the mystery behind the pyramids. The next thing you will do is take a visit to the Step Pyramid of Saqqara, the first stone structure to be constructed by King Djoser and his architect Imhotep, and then drive back to your hotel.

Day 3Fly to Aswan - Aswan Tour - Nile River Cruise

You will spend the next four days of your 7 days Egypt Cairo & Nile River cruise from India on board a River cruise. So, you will take a transfer to Cairo Airport to fly to Aswan to Aswan to begin your 3-night Nile River Cruise from Aswan to Luxor.

Meet your guide just outside the arrival terminal at Aswan Airport to commence your tour. Your first stop will be at the High Dam, a dam built in the 1960s, to generate hydroelectricity and to stop floods. Then take a motorboat to explore the Temple of Philae, which was built primarily during the Ptolemaic period and is one of the most incredible Temples in Egypt. It was due to the construction of the two dams in Aswan that UNESCO had to relocate the temple. End your journey at the granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk

Transfer to your Nile cruise ship. Overnight in Aswan.

Day 4Aswan - Kom Ombo - Edfu

Enjoy a free morning onboard your Nile cruise ship or join us on an optional tour of the phenomenal temples of Abu Simbel.

In the afternoon your Nile cruise ship sails down to Kom Ombo where you can visit the temple which the Egyptians dedicated it to two gods, Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. At the end of your tour, you will have a short visit to the Crocodile Museum then the ship will proceed down to Edfu, where it will dock.

Overnight in Edfu.

Day 5Edfu - Esna - Luxor

Before/after breakfast, you will take a horse and carriage to visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. The temple is very intact, none of its elements are missing but the Sacred Lake and two obelisks. The Sacred Lake was on the east side of the temple but now vanished under the city’s modern houses. The two obelisks were located in front of the main gate of the temple. The Temple of Edfu is fully inscribed with reliefs and hieroglyphs on its exterior and interior walls.

Take your carriage back to your Nile cruise ship to set sail to Luxor via the Lock of Esna. Once you reach Luxor, you will visit the largest temple in Egypt, the Temple of Karnak, built by several pharaohs in ancient times. Then proceed to the majestic Temple of Luxor, which is connected to Karnak by the ceremonial avenue of Sphinxes which was recently restored. These temples were dedicated to Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, the Theban Triad.

Day 6Kings Valley, Hatshepsut Temple and Colossi of Memnon

You will be disembarking from the ship after breakfast in order to explore the western side of Luxor. In the first part of your tour, you will explore the magnificent tombs of the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom were buried to be hidden from grave robbers. A total of 65 tombs can be found in the Valley of the Kings. Your guide will recommend the top three tombs that are open to the public that you should visit.
Then, you will proceed to the unique Temple of Hatshepsut, the female pharaoh who served as a solo pharaoh for about 20 years after convincing the people that she was a man. You will then visit the Colossi of Memnon which lies in the Temple of Amenhotep III.

After this, you will take a transfer to Luxor Airport to fly back to Cairo for the rest of your 7 days Egypt Cairo & Nile River cruise from India. Overnight in Cairo.

Explore the fantastic contents of the historical Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square in Cairo. Hundreds of objects from all periods of Egypt’s past are displayed on the two floors of the museum.

In addition to the museum, you drive to the Citadel of Saladin, which was built in 1172 as a line of defense against the Crusades by the Sunni Muslim leader Saladin. In the citadel, one of the most prominent features is the White Mosque of Mohammed Ali Pasha which has the famous clock he received from the French king Lewis Philippe and then he gave them the famous obelisk of Remises II in return.

The tour of Khan El-Khalili will come next, it is one of the oldest bazaars in Egypt, which was created during the Fatimid Era.
