The Great Temple was built by Pharaoh Ramses II, while the smaller temple was dedicated to his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari. Carved directly into the mountainside, the temples showcase the artistic brilliance and power of ancient Egyptian civilization.
Following the construction of the Aswan High Dam, the temples were threatened by the rising waters of Lake Nasser. In an extraordinary international rescue mission, the temples were carefully relocated to higher ground to preserve them for future generations.

Today, your Aswan vacation package will ascend Aswan hill to visit the tombs of the Nobles at Qubbet Al-Hawa.
