You’re going to spend the next four days of your 6-day Cairo & Nile cruise tour onboard a Nile River cruise. So, you will take a transfer from your hotel to Cairo Airport to fly to Aswan to begin your 3-night Nile River cruise to Luxor.
Meet your guide just outside the arrival terminal at Aswan Airport to commence your tour. Your first stop will be at the High Dam, a dam built in the 1960s, to generate hydroelectricity and to stop floods. Then continue to explore the Temple of Philae, which was built primarily during the Ptolemaic period and is one of the most incredible Temples in Egypt. It was due to the construction of the two dams in Aswan that UNESCO had to relocate the temple. End your journey at the granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk.

Take your carriage back to your cruise ship to set sail to Luxor via the Lock of Esna. Upon arrival in Luxor, you will visit the impressive Temple of Karnak and the majestic Temple of Luxor. Both temples were dedicated to the Theban Triad; Amun, Mut and Khonsu. Overnight in Luxor.
You will be disembarking from the cruise ship after breakfast in order to explore the western side of Luxor. In the first part of our tour, you will have the chance to explore the magnificent tombs found in the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom were buried to be away from grave robbers. A total of 65 tombs can be found in the Valley of the Kings. Your guide will recommend the top three tombs that are open to the public that you should visit.
Then, you will visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, the female pharaoh who served as a solo pharaoh for about 20 years after convincing the people that she was a man.
