Day 3Fly to Aswan - Aswan Tour - Felucca Cruise

You will spend the next two nights of your 8 days Egypt Splendors Tour for solo travelers onboard a traditional Felucca River Nile cruise. So, we will transfer you to Cairo Airport to fly to Aswan to begin your 2-night Felucca Nile cruise.

Meet your guide just outside the arrival terminal at Aswan Airport to commence your tour. Explore the High Dam, one of the great engineering feats of the 1960s. Then proceed to the beautiful Philae Temple. This temple was built during the Greco-Roman era and it was dedicated to Isis, goddess of Magic and Love in ancient Egypt.

End your tour at the granite quarry of the Unfinished Obelisk. Transfer to board your Felucca Nile cruise. Set sail enjoying the Nile landscape in Aswan.

Day 4Camel Market

Breakfast and disembarkation. Drive to the famous Camel Market (every Saturday and Sunday). Daraw has one of the largest camel markets in Egypt. Most of the camels come in caravans from Sudan’s Darfur and Kordofan along the Darb Al Arba’een (Forty Days Road) to just north of Abu Simbel before being trucked to Daraw. It is a picturesque sight and fascinating to see the trading; sometimes there are as many as 2000 camels.

Back to your felucca cruise to set sail to Kom Ombo to overnight there.

Day 5Disembarkation to Luxor

Breakfast and disembarkation. Visit the twin Temple of Horus and Sobek together with the Crocodile Museum. Kom Ombo Temple was built during the Greco-Roman period. It was built over the ruined temple of the New Kingdom. The temple began during the time of Ptolemy V and was completed by the time of Emperor Tiberius. The emperors Domitian, Caracalla, and others added to the temple. So it took about 400 years to finish.

Drive from Kom Ombo to visit the most intact temple in Egypt, the Temple of Horus in Edfu. The temple is very intact, none of its elements are missing but the Sacred Lake and two obelisks. The Sacred Lake was on the east side of the temple but now vanished under the city’s modern houses. The two obelisks were located in front of the main gate of the temple. The Temple of Edfu is fully inscribed with reliefs and hieroglyphs on its exterior and interior walls.

Drive from Edfu to your hotel in Luxor for a free evening.
